Now, this list isn’t exhaustive. I’ve purposefully left out some activities like ‘read a book’ and tried to think a little more outside the box for you.

Also, there are a lot of activities here for older kids (as you’ll notice if you grab the ebook that goes with this post). That’s because there are a ton of articles online listing activities for toddlers available. You don’t need another post like that. And often, it’s our older kids that have a hard time peeling their faces off a screen!

Something to note:

There are some activities that might require your child to use the internet – for example, researching an occupation, or watching the Youtube instructions on how to build your own instrument. I’ve still included these activities in this list because, although there might be some screen involved, the activity itself will mostly be done without the use of a screen (the actual building of the instrument, or the brainstorming of jobs and compiling lists of pros and cons etc.). Whenever the internet is used for an activity, it is really only there for instructional or research purposes.
